Nasser Abu Said standing inside the remnants of his old house in Johr El Dyk. On April 28th 2011, his house, which stands 300 meters away from the fence that separates the Gaza Strip from Israel, was shelled by tanks and partially demolished. On a previous attack, on July 13th 2010, his wife was killed when Israeli soldiers shot at the building with machine guns mounted on tanks.
The "Buffer Zone" as seen from the second floor of Nasser´s old house.
On the front wall, the scars left by .50 caliber bullets, shrapnel and flechettes are still present.

Nasser and his family - including six children - now have to live in tents erected directly on the bare ground, without any kind of insulation, making life extremely difficult on rainy days.
